In Asia, this dish is normally prepared with Long Yard Bean, however I have adapted it with Green Bean. The green bean is deep-fry to make them extra tender however if you do not want to use so much oil to deep-fry, your other option is to blanch them in boiling water first.
green bean with mince pork and a bowl of rice – I am happy
Ingredients
- 300g fresh green beans
- 100g mince pork
- 1 tbsp mince garlic
- 1 tbsp mince ginger
Seasoning
- 1/2 tbsp hot bean paste
- 1/2 tsp soya sauce
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 3 tbsp water
- pinch of pepper
Preparations
- rinse green bean in water shake off excess water and then cut of both ends and chop them in 6cm length
- fill the frying pan with oil (about 2 cup) and wait till the oil is hot before you put the green bean in. fry the bean for 2 minutes and strain out the bean. pour the oil out to oil container (Or you can blanch it in hot water)
- on the same frying pan, add mince pork and stir fry until slightly brown and fragrant then set aside
- turn on medium heat and start adding seasoning, green bean and mince pork in , stir for a minute or so and then it is ready to serve. garnish with sesame seeds on top
