During my Uni days, whenever I eat at Thai Restaurant I will order this dish.
You could use mince chicken instead. Thai Basil has a slight stronger taste than western basil.
Ingredients
- 200g minced meat (pork/chicken/beef)
- 1/2 red onion
- 1 chilli, slice thinly
- 1/4 cup basil
- soya sauce
- fish sauce
- sugar to taste
Preparations
- Heat 1 tbsp oil on a nonstick pan, brown onion and garlic then set it aside and add mince pork in. stir them well, make sure that there is no big clump. once pork turn light brown,
- add in 1tbsp of soya sauce, 1/2 tbsp of fish sauce, 1/2 tsp of sugar, let the sauce absorb a bit and then turn off heat, add basil in and stir until the leaf is wilted. Ready to serve with steamed rice or rice vermicelli or with salad.
Enjoy
